Frequently Asked Questions

Personal Training or Boot Camp? Or both!

What is a Personal Trainer?

A Personal Trainer should be educated and certified through a reputable fitness organization. This person's job is to assess your fitness level, set up a program for you and keep you motivated. A trainer also provides:

  • guidance on reaching your goals
  • education about strength training
  • a reason to show up at the studio each week
  • motivation, professionalism and trust

 What is a session like?

When you walk into our studio, you are greeted by your trainer, and given a fresh, white towel for your session use and a cold bottle of water! We want you to feel like the studio is "your private gym" while you are training! Each session lasts about one hour. You will have the undivided attention from your trainer the entire hour! The first meeting is devoted to assessing fitness level, body measurements, exercise and health history and goals. Be prepared to step on the scale, have your body fat tested and answer specific questions about your goals. After that, you will spend most of your time on strength training and cardio.

What should I look for in a Personal Trainer?

  • Education: Your trainer should be certified through a reputable organization.
  • CPR: your trainer should have an updated certification in CPR and/or first aid.
  • Experience: Make sure your trainer has several years of experience, especially in relation to your goals.
  • A good listener: A good trainer will listen closely to what you say and make sure he/she understands your goals.
  • Attention: A good trainer will be focused only on you during your sessions.
  • Tracking progress: A good trainer will regularly assess your progress and change things if necessary.
  • Trust: A good trainer will always show the utmost respect for you and conduct himself/herself in a professional way at all times.

Choosing Studio Boot Camps!

What is the  Pre-Camp Assesment?

This is a very important part of the Boot Camp experience! We will give a detailed overview of the program and answer any questions that you may have. You will also fill out your medical history form.

We will also take and record  your measurements. This will be used only as a benchmark to see your progress as camp goes on, and for the post-camp comparison. As with all information, this will be kept in  the strictest confidence.

We will record your weight and measure your body fat percentage. This will allow you to see your results at the end of the camp! Be prepared to see great results! You will recieve nutritional guidance and a  customized meal plan to meet your caloric needs.

What do I need to bring to Boot Camp?

You will need :

  • Wear good running or cross training shoes, bring water and a towel.
  • Your energy, enthusiasm and dedication!

What types of activities can I expect at Boot Camp?

We have carefully designed each class to burn maximun calories and trim all parts of the body. You can expect an effective segment of cardio conditioning to burn the sugars out of the body first, leaving the rest of the hour to burn fat. We will be using weights, bands, studio equipment and machines, exercise balls and core strengthening exercises as well as drills and fat burning power yoga. It is a fast paced cirriculum that will allow your adrenalin to kick in early on in the class! We change the format up to keep the body working at it's optimim fat burning level!

Why only 3 days a week?

We believe in allowing the body to restore and recover between camp days. We prefer that you cross-train on your "off"  days. Personal training is a great choice, as well as hiking, swimming, yoga or pilates- as long as you keep your body in the fat burning zone for at least 45 minutes each "off" day. Your camp results will be better, you will avoid overuse injuries, and you will stay motivated! Need a plan? We can design your "off" days for you!

I'm not in shape. Will I feel out of place?

Not at all! That is why we are here! You will find all levels in our classes! Our campers come to us in all shapes, sizes and ages.  All camps are multi-level, and you will work at your own pace. Our philosphy is repeated on a regular basis: "NO competition, NO judgement, NO Negative thinking! Just a grateful heart for the health and strength that you  have!" We will encourage you, motivate you and move you gently out of your comfort zone.

What if it rains?

Camp is held rain or shine! Remember, we have the luxury of a fully equipped studio!

Where is the camp located?

The Boot Camps are held in Norco, Calif.
